這是描述正在做一件事時發生了另一件事的句型。句型結構是： 主語+be動詞+V-ing形式（+其他），but+主語+動詞原形/動詞第三人稱單數形式（+其他）. 這個句型前半句用現在進行時，后半句用一般現在時。
but是連詞，意為“但是”，表示轉折。
