in the nineteenth century意為“在19世紀”，相當于in the 1800s。表示“在某世紀某年代”時，用“in+the+數字+-s/-’s”。
【注意】用數字表示“某世紀”時，不要丟掉定冠詞the。
2. Each line has a set number of words.
每行有一定數量的單詞。
a number of意為“一些”，與some或several同義，后面接可數名詞復數。a number of短語作主語時，謂語動詞往往用復數形式。a set number of“固定數量的”。
【拓展】the number of意為“……的數目”，后接名詞復數，謂語動詞使用單數形式。
3. Let’s look at another two poems as examples.
讓我們看另外兩首詩作為例子。
another two poems意為“另外兩首詩”，與two more poems同義。
“another+數詞+名詞復數”相當于“數詞+more+名詞復數”，意為“再幾個……”。
We need another two people to help. = We need two more people to help. 我們還需要兩個人幫忙。
4. Here is how you can write your own five-line poem.
以下是你如何寫自己的五行詩。
own意為“自己的，屬于自己的”，用在形容詞性物主代詞后面加強語氣。常用結構為“one’s own+名詞”，意為“某人自己的……”。
a five-line poem意為“一首五行詩”。由“數詞+名詞”構成的復合形容詞，中間用“-”連接，名詞不用復數形式。
