[觀察] I'm complaining about you to the robot shop.
我在向機器人商店投訴你。
[探究] complain 用作不及物動詞，意為“抱怨；埋怨；投訴；發牢騷”。complain about sth 意為“抱怨某事”；complain to sb 意為“向某人抱怨”；complain about sth to sb 意為“向某人抱怨某事”。complain 后面也可接賓語從句。

他幾乎馬上就開始抱怨天氣了。
They complained about the terrible food to the boss.
他們向老板抱怨這糟糕的食物。
[拓展] complain的名詞形式為complaint，意為“抱怨；埋怨；投訴；控告”。

[注意] complain用作及物動詞時，可接that從句，但不能接動詞不定式。

2 whatever pron.任何，一切事物
[觀察] So they could do whatever they're asked to.
所以它們可以做任何它們被要求做的事情。
[探究] whatever 作代詞，意為“任何，一切事物”，既可以引導主語從句，也可以引導讓步狀語從句。引導主語從句時，謂語動詞要用單數形式；引導讓步狀語從句時，相當于no matter what。
