1．For my project，I will describe some places and things from China.
describe 是動詞，意為“描述，描寫”，其名詞為description (描寫)。常用短語：describe...as... 把……描述成……，把…… 稱為 ……
例：Why did you describe your diary as your best friend？你為何把你的日記稱為你最好的朋友？
Describe how you did it. 談談你是怎樣做這事的。
2．Just try your best.
(1) just 常用在祈使句前，用來加強語氣，表示對熟人客氣的請求。例：Just open the door. 開開門吧。
(2) try one's best 竭盡所能，盡某人最大的努力。相當于 do one's best，可單獨使用，后面也可以跟不定式短語，意思是“盡某人最大的努力做某事”。
例：They are trying their best to help us and we should thank them. 他們在盡最大努力幫助我們，我們應該感謝他們。
3．People built them a long time ago.
(1) built是動詞 build 的過去式，意為“修建”。build的過去分詞也是built，現在分詞為building；
名詞形式有：building 建筑物 (與現在分詞形式一致)，builder 建造者。例：They want to build a school here.他們打算在這里建造一座學校。
(2)“一段時間＋ago” 意為 “……以前”，在句子中表示過去的時間，它所在的句子需要用一般過去時。
例：We became friends years ago. 我們多年前成為了朋友。

一、一般過去時的基本概念
一般過去時表示過去某個時間里發生的動作或存在的狀態；過去習慣性、經常性的動作或行為；過去主語所具備的能力或性格。
二、一般過去時的構成形式
（1）肯定句：
①主語＋謂語(動詞過去式)＋其他．
②主語＋was/were＋其他．
（2）否定句：
①主語＋was/were＋not＋其他．
②主語＋didn't＋謂語(動詞原形)＋其他．
（3）一般疑問句：
①Did＋主語＋謂語(動詞原形)＋其他？
②Was/Were＋主語＋其他？
例：She often came to help us in those days.
