Language points
1. Even more serious difficulties include freezing weather conditions and heavy storms.
更加嚴峻的困難包括極冷的天氣狀況和巨大的風暴。
1)difficulty既可作可數名詞也可作不可數名詞，在此用作可數名詞。
作可數名詞時，difficulty通常用作復數，表示具體概念，即：各種各樣的“困難；難題；難事”。例如：
People learning a new language may face some difficulties.
人們學習一門新的語言時可能會遇到一些困難。
If you have any difficulties, you can call me for
help.如果你遇到任何困難，給我打電話。
作不可數名詞時，difficulty可譯作“困難；
艱難；辛苦；費勁”，例如：
He had great difficulty in finding a new job.
他找新的工作費了很大勁。
We found the house without difficulty.
我們輕而易舉地找到了那座房子。
2) include表示“包括；包含”，是一個及物動詞。例如：
Does your price of the bike include this light?
你們的車價包含這盞車燈嗎？

1)give up doing something 的意思是“放棄做某事；半途而廢”
He gave up learning a third language after he got the job.
他找到工作之后就放棄了對第三門語言的學習。
2) achieve our dreams 相當于make our dreams come true 其中動詞achieve表示“（通過努力）實現；取得；獲��；達到（夢想、成績、成功、目的)”等。例如：
He achieved great success in a short time.
他用很短的時間取得了極大的成功。
Lin Tao achieved very good exam results.
林濤考試取得了很好的成績。
3. Thick clouds cover the top and snow can fall very hard. Even more serious difficulties include freezing weather conditions and heavy storms.

表現“寒冷”時常與weather搭配的形容詞：cold, freezing, icy
表現暴風雨之“兇猛”時部分與storm搭配的常見形容詞：bad, big, great, heavy,
terrible, disastrous, fierce, tremendous, violent
表現snow之“強弱”時的搭配：heavy, thick, light
表現云層“疏密”時常與cloud搭配的形容詞：light, thick, heavy, dense
表現“烏云”時cloud一詞的常見搭配：black, dark, gray, dense
表現空氣“稀薄”、“渾濁”、“潮濕”時與air搭配的形容詞：thin, thick, humid
4. It is also very hard to take in air as you get near the top.當你接近山頂時，吸入空氣也會很困難。
1)動詞不定式在作主語時，常用it作形式主語，而往往將動詞不定式放在謂語或表語之后。
It’s not easy to learn a foreign language well.
= To learn a foreign language well is not easy.
學好一門外語不容易。
2) take in 吸入
take in: (to understand completely the meaning or importance of something)理解；領會；領悟
Fish take in oxygen through their gills(鰓).
