pardon動詞，意為“(用于請求別人重復)請再說一遍”。其用法如下：
①表示沒聽清或沒聽懂對方的話，請求對方再說一遍。
eg：Pardon？I can't hear you very well.你說什么？你的話我聽不清。
Pardon？也可用“I beg your pardon？”來表達。
②表示道歉(比I'm sorry.更正式)，意為“對不起”。
eg：She wrote to the teacher asking his pardon for her daughter.她給老師寫了封信，為女兒請求老師的原諒。

intend用作及物動詞，意為“意欲；想要；打算”，其后可接不定式或動名詞，表示想要做而未做某事。
eg：What do you intend doing today？今天你打算做什么？
【拓展】①intend用作及物動詞，還意為“要某人做某事”，其后可接復合賓語。
eg：My father intended me to become a doctor.我父親要我做個醫生。
②intend用作及物動詞，意為“建議；主張”時，其后接賓語從句。
eg：I intended that he should do it at once.我建議他應該立即做這件事。
I hope so.我希望如此。表示肯定的希望，其中so代表上文所提到的事情，意為“我希望如此”。
【拓展】I hope not.表示否定的希望，其中not代表上文所提到的事情，意為“我希望不會如此”。
