3. effort n. 力氣，精力

常 用 句 式
1. Nowadays, some people choose to have the dinner in a restaurant, but not_everyone is keen on this idea.(P20)
如今，有些人選擇在飯店吃年夜飯，不過，不是每個人都支持這一想法。
2. It was not only for the delicious food that we seldom got to eat, but for the opportunity to have our whole family gathered together.(P21)
不僅可以吃到平時難以吃到的美食，而且全家人能有機會團聚在一起。

【歸納拓展】
not only ... but (also) ... 連接并列的成分，所連接的詞的詞性必須對等。
(1)not only ... but (also) 連接兩個分句，當not only放在句首時，前一個分句常用倒裝結構，而but (also) 后的分句仍用陳述語序。
(2)not only ... but (also)．..連接句子的兩個主語時，謂語動詞的變化采取“就近原則”。類似用法的還有：either... or ..., neither ... nor ...等。
