一、情態動詞may的用法
1. 用情態動詞may 表示肯定推測，譯為“可能，也許”，通常只用于肯定句與否定句中，相當于perhaps, possibly 或maybe。
may not :可能不，表示否定推測
eg：The news may or may not be true.
這消息也許是真的，也許不是真的.
2. may 除了可以表示推測，還可以表示請求，許可，允許，通常用于疑問句中。
eg：—May I go now? 我現在可以走了嗎？
—Yes, you can. / No, you can't.
回答時不可用may, might,或could及其否定形式
3. 表示必須，必要。must 和have to
在陳述句中，must強調說話者的主觀想法， have to強調客觀需要，意為“不得不”。
在疑問句中，回答must引出的問句時，肯定回答用must, 否定回答可以用needn't或don't have to(不必)，一定不能使用mustn't(禁止，不準)。
eg：—Must I finish my homework now ?
我現在一定要完成作業嗎？
—Yes, you must. / No, you needn't/don't have to.
是的，一定要。/不，沒必要。
二、動詞不定式結構
1. eg：Linda wanted to visit the park.
Sandy needs to go with them.
Millie decided to stay at home.
上面例子中主要行為動詞后面的動詞都采用了“to ＋ 動詞原形”的結構，我們把這種結構稱為動詞不定式(有時可以不帶to)。動詞不定式沒有人稱和數的變化，在句子中不能單獨作謂語。
2. 也有一些動詞后面可以跟動名詞結構doing sth. , 但是 意義不同。
forget to do sth. 忘記去做某事(事情未做)
eg：Don't forget to lock the door when you go out.
當你出去時別忘了鎖門。
forget doing sth. 忘記做過某事(事情已做)
eg：I forgot washing hands and washed again.
我忘了已經洗過手了，又洗了一遍。
