這里you mean 表示“你意思是說… …?常用在口語中，用于核實你確實聽懂了某人所說的話。例如：

2. I always thought they were for people who speak good English already. 我原來一直以為，這些俱樂部是為那些英語已經說得很好的人開辦的。
在這個句子中，thought 表示“原以為… … (但實際并非如此 )”。 例如：
I thought he was honest, but I’m wrong.
