1.表示一個被動動作發生在說話之前,強調對現在造成的影響和結果。
The house has been cleaned by my home robot.
房子已經被我的家庭機器人打掃干凈了。
All the preparations for the task have been completed.
這項任務的所有準備工作都已完成。
2.表示一個被動的動作或狀態開始于過去,持續到現在,并可能持續下去,常與for或since引導的時間狀語連用,或用于How long...?句型中。
How long has the book on computers been kept?
這本有關電腦的書借了多長時間了?
More than 20,000 computers have been made in the factory since last month.
自從上個月起,這個工廠已生產了20 000多臺電腦。
三、短語動詞的被動語態
1.短語動詞是一種固定的詞組,由“動詞+副詞”或“動詞+副詞+介詞”構成,其作用相當于一個動詞。
(1)“及物動詞+副詞”“及物動詞+介詞”以及“及物動詞+副詞+介詞”構成的短語動詞可用于被動結構。
At last they put out the fire.→At last the fire was put out.
Have you sent for a doctor?→Has the doctor been sent for?
My classmates caught up with me in this exam.→I was caught up with by my classmates in this exam.
(2)許多“不及物動詞+介詞”以及“不及物動詞+副詞+介詞”構成的短語動詞相當于及物動詞,也可以有賓語,也可用于被動結構。
The boys laughed at him for the foolish mistake.→He was laughed at for the foolish mistake.
注意:短語動詞是一個不可分割的整體,在變為被動語態時,不可丟掉構成短語動詞的介詞或副詞。
We must take good care of the young trees.
→The young trees must be taken good care of.
2.帶有雙賓語的句子在變為被動結構時,這兩個賓語的任何一個都可作被動句的主語。
(1)把間接賓語改為被動語態的主語,直接賓語仍保留原位。
(2)把直接賓語改為主動語態的主語,此時,間接賓語前要加介詞to或 for。
He gave the boy an apple.
→The boy was given an apple./An apple was given to the boy.
Her father bought her a present.
→She was bought a present by her father./A present was bought for her by her father.
3.帶復合賓語的動詞在改為被動語態時,一般把主動語態的賓語改為主語,賓語補足語在被動語態中作主語補足語。
We call him Xiao Wang.→He is called Xiao Wang.
He cut his hair short.→His hair was cut short.
注意:
主動語態中不帶to的動詞不定式作賓語補足語,改為被動語態時不定式前要加to。
They watched the children sing that morning.
→The children were watched to sing that morning.
