whatever引導讓步狀語從句
(教材P39)Whatever our hobbies, the Internet can connect us with others who also enjoy doing them, even if they live on the other side of the world.
不管我們有什么樣的愛好,互聯網總能把我們同其他也喜歡做同樣事情的人聯系在一起,即使他們生活在這個世界的另一端。
此句為主從復合句。句中Whatever引導的是讓步狀語從句。
whatever可以引導讓步狀語從句,也可引導名詞性從句。
(1)whatever 作為連接代詞引導讓步狀語從句時,可以換成no matter what,意思是“無論什么”。
(2)whatever作連接代詞引導名詞從句 (主語從句、賓語從句)時,相當于anything that, 不能用no matter what替代,意思是“所……的任何事情”。
(3)whatever作連接形容詞,意為“無論什么樣的”。注意: 此用法的whatever必須同其被修飾的詞一起放在從句前引導從句(讓步狀語從句和名詞性從句均可)。
