information /ɪnfə'meɪʃn/n.信息； 消息

news 和information 辨析
news“消息；新聞”，主要側重于“新”。它是指事件等發生后不久的消息。尤其指廣播、電視、報刊等新聞媒介所報道的“消息”和“新聞”，是不可數名詞。
eg：There is a piece of interesting news in the newspaper.
報上有一則有趣的新聞。
information作“消息；情報”講時，指通過觀察、學習、閱讀、調查和交談所獲得的消息、情報乃至資料和知識等。它側重于內容，是不可數名詞。
