(1)stand for代表，象征，意味著。它多指代表某種抽象含義或指用字母、數字或符號來表示一個單詞、名字或是某種概念的縮寫的形式。
例：NBA stands for National Basketball Association.
NBA 代表(美國)國家籃球協會。
(2)continent n．洲；大陸。
例：There are seven continents and four oceans on the earth. 地球上有七大洲四大洋。

stay the same意為“保持相同”。
