知識點1

experience /ɪk'spɪəriəns/ v. 經受;經歷

n. 經歷;體驗

experience作及物動詞,其后可跟名詞、動名詞、代詞作賓語。

I experienced many things on the trip.

我在旅途中經歷了許多事情。

考向二【易錯點】experience作“經驗”講時,是不可數名詞;作“(一次)經歷”講時,是可數名詞。

eg:He has gained much experience of teaching.

他已經獲得了許多教學經驗。

This is a special experience for Kate.

對于凱特來說這是一次特殊的經歷。

知識點2

height /haɪt/ n. 高度;身高

eg:We don't know the height of that building.

我們不知道那座建筑物的高度。

height的形容詞為high,意為“高的”,可作表語和定語。

There is a high building over there. Do you know how high it is?

在那邊有一棟高樓。你知道它有多高嗎?

辨析high與tall

不同點:

(1)指人、動物或樹木的高度時,用tall而不用high;

(2)當指一個不與地面接觸的人或物離地面的高度時要用high,而不用tall;

eg:The cat is high up in the tree.

那只貓高高地趴在樹上。

(3)tall的反義詞是short, high的反義詞是low;
