知識點1
be nice to ... 對……好
be nice to 相當于be good/kind to,意為“對……好”,to后一般接表示人的代詞或名詞。它的反義短語是be bad to,意為“對……不好”。
eg: That old woman was kind/nice/good to the children.
那位老婦人對孩子們很好。
Harry Potter's aunt was bad to him.
哈利·波特的姨媽對他不好。

grow /ɡrəʊ/ v.生長;成長;種植
grow是不規則動詞,其過去式為grew,過去分詞為grown。
eg:My grandpa grew various flowers in front of our house last spring.
去年春天我爺爺在我們的房子前種了各種各樣的花。
?荚~組grow up“長大;成長”
eg:Many people will change their dreams when they grow up.
許多人長大后會改變他們的夢想。
grow還可用作系動詞,意為“變得,變成”,強調逐漸變化的過程。
eg:The young man was very angry, and his voice grew louder and louder.
那個年輕人很生氣,聲音也變得越來越大。

hope to +動詞原形 希望做……
eg:Bruce hopes to make a model spaceship by himself.
布魯斯希望自己動手做一個宇宙飛船模型。
hope 不能用于hope sb.to do sth.結構中,但可用于hope + that 從句中。
eg:We hope to see you again.=We hope we can see you again.
我們希望再次見到你。
I hope you can help me with my maths.
我希望你能幫助我學數學。
(不能說:I hope you to help me with my maths.)
