表示“禁止做某事”。主要結構:
1) No + 動名詞
No fishing. 禁止垂釣!
No parking. 禁止停車。
2) No + 名詞
No entry. 請勿入內。
No food and drinks. 請勿飲食。
3) 祈使句
Don’t make any noise. 不要吵鬧。
Keep off the grass. 請勿踐踏草坪。
2. It’s against the rules.
這違反了規定。
against是介詞, 表示“對抗, 違背, 相反”, 句中against the rules作句子的表語。該詞可以構成很多詞組。如:
Who are you playing against in the next match?
下一場比賽你們和誰對抗?
3. That phone is new! I have to find it, or Mum will punish me!
那部電話是新的。我一定要找到它, 否則媽媽會懲罰我的!
punish v. 懲罰; 懲處 常用結構:
punish sb. for sth./doing sth.
e.g. He was punished for being late.
他因遲到而受到處罰。
