過去進行時
1. 定義：
表示過去某一具體時間正在發生的動作。
2. 時間標志：
at … yesterday morning
at that time

when, while, as
e.g.

when，while，as都可以引導時間狀語從句，但用法區別非常大。
一、when可以和延續性動詞連用，也可以和短暫性動詞連用；而while和as只能和延續性動詞連用。
e.g. They arrived while we were
having dinner. =
They arrived when we were
having dinner.
我們吃飯的時候他們到了。
二、由when引導的時間狀語從句，如果主句是過去進行時，從句應該用一般過去時，表示一個動作正在進行的時候另一個動作突然發生了，強調后一動作發生的突然性。
