名詞所有格的用法

英語中的名詞所有格表示一種所屬關系, ’s所有格多用于有生命的名詞。

構成:

① 在單數名詞的末尾加’s構成名詞的所有格,表示“……的”。

Tony’s mother  托尼的媽媽 

Tom’s pen  湯姆的鋼筆

②在以-s 或-es結尾的復數名詞后只需加’。

the girls’bags  女孩們的書包

③在不以-s 或-es 結尾的復數名詞后,加’s構成所有格。  

Women’s Day 婦女節

④如表示無生命物體的所有關系,  一般用of。

the door of the classroom 教室的門

⑤表示時間、距離的名詞所有格與有生命的名詞所有格構成方法相同。

this, these, that, those的用法

通常我們談論離自己近的 人或物時用this/these, 離自己遠的人或物時用that/those。如:

I like these books, but I don’t like those books.

This girl is Mary.

That boy is in Class 5.

在英語中,this, these, that, those這四個詞稱為“指示代詞”,用來指示或標識人或事物。其中,this 和 that 為單數指示代詞,these 和 those 為復數指示代詞。

This is my mother.

That’s my dad.

These are my parents.

Those are Paul’s son and daughter.

They are my brother and sister, too.
