be ready to do sth.=be ready for sth.意為“為……做好準備” 。
We are ready to have a sports meeting.=We are ready for a sports meeting. 我們準備好運動會了。
2. I talked to someone very special—our English teacher, Ms. Liu. 我和一個人特別的——我們的英語老師劉老師，交談了。
very special是形容詞作定語，放在someone的后面。不定代詞someone、anyone的定語需后置，就像something、 anything、 nothing的定語一樣。
