Student A looks at the chart in 2b. Student B asks Student A questions about one of the people and then draws a picture of the person.
A: What does he look like?
B: He’s of medium build.
A: Is he short?
B: Yes, he is.
A: Does he have long or short hair?
B: Short hair.
Language Points
1. What does he look like?
他長得什么樣子？
1) like可以用作及物動詞，意思為“喜歡”，后面可以接名詞或代詞作賓語。
e.g. I like my family. 我喜歡我的家庭。
Do you like him? 你喜歡他嗎？
2) 但在這個單元里like是介詞，意思為“像”，“像……一樣”。
e.g. He is like his father. 他像他的父親。
The clouds in the sky are like cotton.
天上的云彩像棉花。
look like 看起來像……
e.g. That man looks like a teacher.
那個人看起來像個老師。
要詢問“某人長得什么樣子” ，應該用下面這個句型。“What does … look like?”
回答就應說出某人長相的特征：
e.g. He is very tall. 他個子很高。
She has long hair. 她頭發很長。
He is short and fat. 他又矮又胖。
2. He isn’t tall or short.
他不高也不矮。
英語中在受到否定概念限定的部分一般不用and，而用or。這里的or相當于and not。
e.g. I don’t have any brothers or sisters.
我沒有兄弟姐妹。
注意: 這里用的是 or 而不是 and。
3. He has brown hair and wears glasses.
他的頭發是棕色的而且戴著眼鏡。
wear 動詞, 可表示“戴著眼鏡”, “蓄著……樣的頭發”, “穿著……樣的衣服”等。
wear的賓語是“衣服、鞋子、眼鏡”等。
wear 表示經常性的狀態。
put on表示穿的動作。
wear用進行時態表示短時間內的狀態。
e.g. She wears sports shoes every day.
她每天穿運動鞋。
Mr. Brown wears glasses.
布朗先生戴著眼鏡。
Miss Li is wearing a new dress today.
李老師今天穿著一件新裙子。
