Look at these sentences, which sentences have a comma(逗號) in the middle and which doesn’t?

He thinks something will go wrong if I play games on it.

一、條件狀語從句

If I start after dinner, I’ll finish it before I go to bed.

翻譯:如果我在晚飯后開始,我將在我睡覺前完成它。

If you do all these other things instead of your homework, you won’t have time to study.

翻譯:如果你老是做與學習無關的事情,那么你就沒有時間學習。

He thinks something will go wrong if I play games on it.

翻譯:爸爸覺得如果我在電腦上玩游戲的話,電腦就會出毛病。

1. 用法:

如果 if 引導的從句表示某種假設的情況,主句則表示此種情況所導致的結果。 

2. 主句與從句時態的問題: 

(1)“主將從現”

if 引導的條件狀語從句,若主句用一般將來時,從句用一般現在時。

e.g. If he runs, he’ll get there in time. 

如果他跑步去,他就會及時趕到那兒。

(2)“主情從現”

if 引導的條件狀語從句,若主句中有情態動詞時,從句用一般現在時表示將來。

e.g. If it stops snowing, we can go out.

如果雪停了,我們就可以出去。

(3)“主祈從現”

if 引導的條件狀語從句,若主句是祈使句,從句用一般現在時。

e.g. If you have an exam, be careful.

如果你要考試,要仔細。

Rewrite the sentences with if.

Listen in class, or you will not understand what to do.

If you do not listen in class, you will not understand what to do.

1.Eat your breakfast, or you will get hungry at school.

If you don’t eat your breakfast, you will get hungry at school.

2.Hurry up! You will be late.

If you don’t hurry up, you will be late.

3.Read the book carefully. Then you will not make mistakes.

If you read the book carefully, you will not make mistakes.

4.Don’t watch too much TV, or your eyes will hurt.

If you watch too much TV, your eyes will hurt.

5.Work harder! You will get higher marks.

If you work harder, you will get higher marks.
