1. In the middle of the school is a big playground. 在學校的中間是一個大操場。
in the middle of 意為“在……中間”，既可以表示時間也可以表示地點。

2. The library is on the left of the playground near the school gate. 圖書館在操場的左邊，靠近學校大門。
near意為“靠近，接近，在……旁邊。”
There is a bank near here. 這兒附近有家銀行。
【拓展】near做形容詞，意為“近的，不遠的，接近的”，反義詞為far“遠的”。
